Admittedly, I didn't know what either of those things were until a couple days ago, but the 2 of them together do indeed = fantasticness.
The Matrix Coffeehouse is a large room with a small stage and comfy couches and chairs, with old books and records for sale (I saw one book from 1945...), and it's all very mismatched and chill. And on June 25th, the lineup is Locust Street Taxi, Willie Ames, and Brian Walls. Here's what it says about each of them on the Matrix's website:
Regional favorites Locust Street Taxi play an "unplugged" set of: pop rock folk funk swing country reggae rap... with horns!
Willie Ames ~ Guitarist ~ Banjoist ~ Singer ~ Songwriter ~ He has independently toured all 50 United States performing acoustic/folk/rock music
Brian Walls is a local singer-songwriter & active participant at Matrix Song Circles who is premiering new songs of his and arrangements of friends' songs
For a sample of some of the music, go here: http://www.locuststre...
The cover charge for this night is $6, and they only take cash.
