Since I noticed some people liked the idea, I'm going to go ahead and make it a meetup. This is a cross-post with the South Sound 20's & 30's group.
Stealing some of Greg's words from the other post: This event is always a big deal with a lot of planes & people. The press release on the Olympic Flight Museums web site says:
The Western Washington air show season kicks off on Father’s Day Weekend at the celebrated Olympic Air Show, hosted by the Olympic Flight Museum at the Olympia Regional Airport.
This 12th anniversary event, held June 19-20 (We'll be there on the 19th) will feature tactical demonstrations including a U.S. Navy F/A-18 Hornet, a U.S. Air Force F-16 Viper, and an unforgettable heritage flight with the USAF’s F-4 Phantom! The Olympic Air Show is recognized for its wide variety of military aircraft, from nostalgic vintage bi-planes to high-performance jets. As the largest warbird-only gathering in the Pacific Northwest, the show features three hours of outstanding aerobatic performances by visiting aircraft, in addition to the low-level aerobatic demonstration by the museum’s own P-51D Mustang, American Beauty. The museum will also exhibit helicopters from its collection, including a UH-1H Huey, AH-1 Cobra, OH-6 Cayuse “Loach”, and the only flying example of a Kaman HH-43 Huskie. Military aircraft and displays are represented from all military branches and eras from WWII, Korea and Vietnam.
In addition, other event features include a WWII encampment with authentic military vehicles and uniformed personnel, an operational Vietnam Landing Zone, and a festive USO-style show with live band. The Budweiser Beer Garden, food and merchandise vendors, and a variety of youth activities will be onsite as well. This weekend event promises to deliver the excitement of heritage aviation that visitors anticipate.
