We haven't done anything super-brainy in a little while, how about a documentary? This might not be everybody's idea of fun, but I enjoy following politics (from a distance anyway) and I certainly think that our generation should learn from the mistakes (and the unbridled, remorseless greed) of those who've gone before us. And since we'll be downtown, there could always be barhopping afterward.
Stolen from the Oly Film Society's website: Director Alex Gibney (Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room, Taxi to the Dark Side) is back to tell the story of Jack Abramoff, a successful and influential Washington, DC, lobbyist who pleaded guilty, in 2006, to fraud, tax evasion, and conspiracy to bribe public officials. Entertainment Weekly says, "Casino Jack is really a look at how the culture of Washington was rebuilt to sell itself to the highest bidder."
