Sand in the City
So, I'm told that every year at this time, trucks show up downtown and dump large amounts of sand out near the Farmer's Market, resulting in oodles of people coming out to play in the giant sandbox. Sounds like fun! There are also dancers and bands and other entertainment, in addition to fair-type food etc., and the sand sculptures done by teams over the course of the weekend.
Meet at the westside Tops at 9:30 to carpool, or meet at the Farmer's Market near the stage at 9:45am. You could also just meet us there whenever, rendezvous by cell phone if you like. The festival is in front of Anthony's, just across the parking lot from the market. Remember your sunscreen and bring cash for snacks and/or knickknacks!

angelaEvent HostA fun little festival - I just stopped by for a little while to watch the belly dancers before resuming my shopping at the Market. Interesting sand sculptures, and fun to watch all the little kids going to town in the large sandbox on the plaza. -

Hey Angela, any chance of changing the meetup day from Sunday to Saturday and make it in the morning? I'm volunteering with Animal Services tomorrow from 9 til 10am at Sand in the city and would be free after that for a few hours.
